Here at The Healing Zone, we are hugely proud to sponsor two of the UK's top athletes. We help keep them on the track with sports massage, sports therapy, injury prevention, rehab and advice on the latest sports science, and strength and conditioning.
After suffering a spinal injury in 2006, John took part in several “para sports” gaining a world number one in Javelin (F55). Unfortunately this discipline was cancelled from the Rio 2016, Olympic Games which left John searching for a new sport. In 2014 he took up wheelchair racing with his main events being the 5000m track and marathons. After 3 seasons, he has reached number 2 in the UK and currently holds several course records and titles including winning the Dubai Marathon in 2016, and holding the record for the current Manchester Marathon. He has represented Great Britain on several occasions both in the UK and Internationally. He trains regularly at Cyclopark and has worked closely with The Healing Zone during his last 2 marathon seasons in order to keep his body in top racing condition and injury free. Cheryl of The Healing Zone has put me in touch with many of her contacts who have helped my training and progress amazingly in preparation for the season ahead.
He is currently training for the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and ultimately the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
